Robotbids Is Back: A Redesigned Marketplace and Refreshed Robotics Data
We rebuilt the Robotbids marketplace for buying and selling used robots, refreshed our research with the latest IFR data, and added an llms.txt for AI assistants.

Robotbids is back, and better. This autumn we rebuilt the marketplace for buying and selling new, used and refurbished robots, refreshed our research with the latest industry data, and made the site easier for both people and AI assistants to use. Here is what changed.
Key takeaways
- A redesigned marketplace: search from the homepage, filter by price, condition and brand, and see every photo uncropped.
- Six of our posts are rewritten with 2025 IFR data, charts and linked sources.
- A new llms.txt at robotbids.com/llms.txt gives AI assistants a clean map of the site.
- Listing is still free. We charge a fee only when a robot sells: 12.5% under $10,000 and 6% over.
A faster way to find the right robot
The new homepage starts with a search box and shortcuts to the categories people ask for most: industrial arms, cobots, humanoids, quadrupeds, AMRs and parts. On the all-robots page and every category, brand and search page you can now:
- Filter by price range, condition (new or used) and brand, with a live count of what matches.
- Sort by newest or price, and see the number of results at a glance.
- Browse listing cards that show condition, specs such as payload and reach, price, location and how long ago it was listed.
Listing pages built around the photos
Robots are sold on how they look in the cell, so listing pages now show one large photo at a time without stretching or cropping it, with a thumbnail strip and full-screen zoom. Specifications sit in a key-information table, the seller's details and the Buy now and Message seller buttons stay in view as you scroll, and similar robots appear at the bottom.
The marketplace today
On 26 October 2026 Robotbids lists 37 robots: 28 used and 9 new, with robot arms the largest group. Sellers can add more in a few minutes from the sell page.

Fresh data, with sources
The International Federation of Robotics published its World Robotics 2026 report in September: factories installed about 603,000 industrial robots in 2025, a record, and the number in operation passed five million. We rewrote the posts that depend on those numbers, replaced forecasts we could not source, and put a reference list at the bottom of each one.

For AI assistants: llms.txt
If you ask an AI assistant about used robots, we want it to find accurate, current information. We now publish robotbids.com/llms.txt, a plain-text guide to the marketplace, its categories, brands, policies and our refreshed research, following the llms.txt convention. It is generated from the site itself, so it stays current.
What is next
We will keep refreshing the rest of the blog, add more charts as new data lands, and keep improving search and filters. If you have a robot to sell, or a feature you want, tell us.
